Absolutely fantastic time at Three Counties Show with Peggy (Oldlands Clare 19) winning the July Gilt class, Reserve Champion Female and Reserve Breed Champion.
Ellie (Oldlands Elsie 5) won January Gilt. Cedric (Oldlands Clarence) 2nd boar class, Lilly (Oldlands Clare 8) 2nd Sow class and Mollie (Oldlands Cynthia 5) was 3rd. Issy (Oldlands Iris 2) 4th July Gilt.
All the piggies did so well and were well behaved and to top it all we won the Pig Pen presentation award also! xxx

Another great show at Cornwall county Show 2015. Cedric won the Senior Boar class and took Reserve Male Champion, Mollie was 2nd and Lilly 3rd in the Sow class to the Sully's Longash Gloria 7 (older sister to our Gloria) who went on to make history by being the first Oxford Sandy and Black since the show started in 1793 to win Supreme Champion! So many congratulations to them. Peggy was 4th in the July Gilt class, Ellie was 2nd in the January Gilt class and little Danika won her first rosette 4th in the same class (the judge said absolutely nothing wrong with her - just a baby! Bless her). So pleased with our piggies. Many thanks to Becci Royle for taking the photos for us.
We really enjoyed the show - so much to see and do but such a cold wind and freezing at night - good job we got those new sleeping bags to keep us warm in the tent! xxx

 We've had another brilliant time at the Royal Bath and West Show 2015 culminating in winning the Pig Presentation Award for the second year running!  

All the pigs did us proud - Cedric 2nd in the senior boar class, Lilly 2nd and Mollie 3rd in the sow class, Peggy 3rd in a 'hot' July class, Issy 3rd and Sal 4th in the September class and Ellie 3rd in a very strong January class. Many thanks to Tali for handling Issy to 3rd place in the strong September class and our little February Danika in her first very busy January class.
Congratulations to the Sully family on winning the championship with Longash Gloria 6 and Clive Royle for winning the Senior boar class and reserve male champion with his Alexander boar (who is by our Henry).
It was a most enjoyable show although very tiring! xxx

 Congratulations to Emma on winning Reserve Breed Champion Kune Kune with Mr Fudginton at the Royal Bath and West Show 2015 and 2nd Kune Kune Gilt class with her homebred Uffington Sally (Custard). Congratulations also to Allison Smith winning the Gilt class with Uffington Sally (Matilda) also bred by Emma.

What a fantastic time we have had at Devon County Show 2015 with our sow Mollie (Oldlands Cynthia 5) winning the Sow class then going on to be Reserve Champion Female and then taking the Reserve Breed Champion to Judy Hancox's (Butts Farm Rare breeds) lovely Cynthia gilt.
All the crew did us proud and everyone came back with a rosette. Cedric was second in the senior boar class to Clive Royle's lovely Alexander boar (who is by our Henry - Oldlands Alexander). Alfred was 3rd in the January boar class. Sal won the September Gilt class and her mate Issy (Cedric's sister) was 3rd in a very strong class. Peggy was 2nd in an equally strong July Gilt class. Ellie (Alfred's sister) was 2nd in the January Gilt class. Really thrilled with all our piggies!
All behaved themselves really well in the ring - only to be disgraced by Sal who had to return to the ring for the female Championship and then decided she didn't want to go back to her pen afterwards and I missed seeing Mollie in the Breed Championships as I was doing several circuits of the showground in hot pursuit of a pig that suddenly produced a rather fast turn of speed! Needless to say - many thanks to Sharon Barnfield who came to my aid as I was speeding past her pen when she was trying to have 50 winks!! Bless that Sal (and I did!) xxx

Today we lost a very special member of our family.  Our precious Clem   (Shadowsquad Damask Rose, Clemmy, Clementine but mostly known as Grannie).  Mother to Branston and Honey, Grannie to Bramble and Crumpet, Great Granny to Connie, Pickle, Chutney and Little Guinness and Great Great Grannie to Pepper.

She entered our lives 13.5 years ago running rings around the shepherds and filling our hearts with love.  Always at Inch's side and his 'little girl' - even at 13.5!  She was such a character; always out with Inch in the tractor whatever the weather when she was younger, doing vertical takeoffs outside the kitchen window so that she could see what was going on - as she was so nosey and to let us know it was time for her to come in, knocking Inch down like a skittle when out for a walk and always where the action was so that she could be 'in charge' and center of attention.

Good bye dear Clem we miss you so much and the sitting room seems empty now although filled with your children and grandchildren.
